Adjunct Faculty Development Committee Mission

The Adjunct Faculty Development Committee
(Subcommittee of the Faculty Development Committee)

Mission Statement: The Adjunct Faculty Development Committee attends to the specific training and development needs of the College’s adjunct faculty members.

Committee Membership: Full-time faculty representatives, DLF Director, all adjunct faculty, and all ConEd instructors may participate. Co-chairs (representing full-time faculty and adjunct/ConEd faculty) are elected annually by the membership. Adjunct co-chairs will be elected with an effort to represent multiple campuses.

    The Adjunct Faculty Development Committee oversees the Adjunct Faculty Certification Program, in conjunction with the DLF staff.
    The Adjunct Faculty Development Committee monitors adjunct faculty development needs with particular focus on enhancing teaching and engaging adjuncts in the CSM community.
    The Adjunct Faculty Development Committee works with the DLF to ensure abundant, high-quality training opportunities for adjunct faculty.
    The Adjunct Faculty Development Committee aggregates and disseminates information about adjunct benefits and advocates for improvement as needed.
    The Adjunct Faculty Development Committee publicizes and recognizes adjunct faculty member achievements.
    The Adjunct Faculty Development Committee supports the Mentoring Program’s work with adjunct faculty.
    The Adjunct Faculty Development Committee coordinates an adjunct support network.
    The Adjunct Faculty Development Committee advocates for adjunct benefits, policies, and support to respond to adjunct faculty needs at the division, campus, and institutional levels.
